“Rich in mercy” ... His Mercy surrounds us Ps 32:10 ... His Mercy pursues us Ps 23:6 ... His mercies are new every morning Lam 3:23 ... His Mercy endures forever Ps 136 ... Rich indeed!

This passage reminds me of the part we have to play in our salvation. We are saved through God’s grace that He extended to us, as a gift. God’s grace is Christ suffering and dying for our sins. God’s grace is given to us on a daily basis as sinners. Our salvation rests in His grace. There’s nothing we can do to earn it or deserve it or gain it. But, we are responsible for exercising faith. Faith in Him, in what He’s done for us, in what He does for us every day and in His word and promises to us. Not just believing Him to be true, but KNOWING that He is and that He does. As Christians, we sometimes have such a hard time with this. I pray I can live today knowing that He is with me and that He loves me and that His word (to me and about me) is true.

I never want to forget who and what I was before He saved me: a child of wrath, living for the flesh. And how I was saved by grace and how His grace covers me and how His grace will deliver me to my final destination. Because of Christ.
