There is so much comfort in this passage! God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing, He chose us (He chose ME!), we are adopted as sons (and daughters!) by Jesus Christ to Himself, He made us accepted, in Him we have redemption and forgiveness and grace! No matter what life may throw at us, we have so much value in His eyes. He loves us more than we can fathom, and I am not alone walking through life today. I am His daughter whom He chose!

I like in verse 5 that God predestined believers to adoption as sons (children) by Jesus Christ to Himself. The idea that God would choose to adopt me as His child confirms His love for me. Additionally, I have access to all the blessings associated with that adoption as stated in verse 3.

Life is full of challenging decisions. Few are simple. I've got a few on my plate right now. It's very comforting to know that God abounds toward me in all wisdom and understanding. My goal today is to seek Him more about a few decisions on my plate instead of think of all the reasons why any choice I make might not work.

When His wisdom comes, may you sense the pure, peaceable, gentle, yielding, merciful, fruitful, impartial and non hypocritical nature of Jesus (the wisdom of God), in it...

His grace ABOUNDS to me! Today, I will walk in the knowledge of that fact. With the challenges and failures that I face today, I can confidently move forward because His grace “overflows onto me in large measure”.

...His grace, by which He made us accepted...

No matter how the world sees me, or how I see myself, by God’s Grace I am accepted....He accepts me as I am. I am holy and without blame before Him.

Tonight, I am clinging to His love for me!

Verse 6 “accepted in the beloved”!... been spending some time in Song of Solomon ... I want to get my heart around the fact we are beloved ... dearly loved by God. I look forward to the day we see and feel the full impact of His love, when we stand in His presence

The part that spoke to me was the reminder that God causes all things to work according to His will. God’s great plan from eternity past included saving me. And even when things happen I don’t understand, the Lord is in control working His will. And God’s plan includes my inheritance which is beyond anything I could imagine. So I will trust in Him today when I don’t understand and I am confident that He controls my destiny and my inheritance.
