It’s interesting how Paul identifies his life and calling as directly given by the will of God. His identity was no longer found in religious activity, his lineage, his language, his location, his social status. Instead it was solely found in what God had willed for his life. It is no longer Paul who lives and wills, but Christ. As by way of introduction to this letter, sets the stage for how we can find our true identity when we align ourselves with God’s will.

I thought it was cool how the Ephesian Christians were called "the faithful". I really want the Lord to see me as faithful today as a husband, dad, and pastor. So, my goal today is to be someone my family, my church, and my brothers and sisters in Christ can count on.

The word “faithful” stood out to me, too. It is a reminder for me to stay the path. To live every moment and do every task faithfully to my Lord. Even laundry....... 😊

Grace (God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense) is a gift to us, that we must accept in order to receive Peace from God and Jesus Christ. We will never know true peace without first receiving grace. For me, I must consciously remember to be accepting of God’s grace to have His peace.

"an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God." This really speaks to me, a reminder that whatever He has called us to (ministry, circumstances past and present etc) it is all by His will, and if it is by His will, we will always be equipped to do what we've been called to if we're obedient. It reminds me not to worry how I will manage in difficult situations, and also not to try running away from difficult situations, because everything is by His will, and He is a good and trustworthy Father.

I love that the word of God calls us Saints. Prior to coming to Christ, I was taught that saints could only be beatified” or “canonized” by the Pope or prominent bishop. Even then it never sat right with me.
This is one reason,I'll be forever grateful for the cross. Never will I have to guess who I am. I know without question that I share in His inheritance and am called a Saint according to his purpose and will for my life. 💗
