I absolutely love that passage in Colossians. To be as Christ is to participate both in His power and in His suffering. Thanks James!
This passage reminds me to be as Christ in this world. Which also means to not be “tossed about by every wind of doctrine” in the world. I find it so easy to become caught up in the daily politics or monotony of life, just wandering about passing the time foolishly like the rest of the world. Yet Christ was above the world, though in it. He overcame and so to I submit myself to His work in my life that I might look like Him in this life, completely unswayed by the world.
