I know right before this, it’s talking about asking for wisdom. But i think this also can be applied to asking God for other things too. This made me think about the times where I ask someone for help at work but I know they’re not gonna give it to me. So I ask half heartedly. I ask while I am doubting their goodness or their willingness to help. If I’m asking the Lord for something, but I’m Doubting that he’ll give it to me, in a way I am doubting his willingness to give me something that I want or I’m doubting his goodness. Certainly that doesn’t mean he has to give something to me or that he’s not good if he doesn’t, but why would I go to him doubting that he’ll give it to me? In a way I am doubting his willingness to give me something that I want or I’m doubting his goodness. why would I go to him expecting him not to give soemthing I ask just because I want it? The Lord wants us to make our requests known to him. Just like how our earthly fathers want us to talk to them about what’s going on in our lives. Not doubting doesn’t mean that he’s going to give you everything you asked for, but it means that you’re not doubting his goodness or his ability to.
