Equipping the saints to read, comprehend, apply, and share the Word of the Lord

Are you struggling with consistently studying and meditating on the bible? Do you find it takes too much time to get anything out of it? Are you confused by various passages in the bible? Do you want to improve your understanding of the things detailed in the bible? Do you want to improve your retention and communication of bible passages for the edification of those around you? THEN THIS CLASS IS FOR YOU! My hope and prayer for anyone in this course is that the Spirit of God illuminates the Word of God to you in a powerful way, and that all who participate would be emboldened in the Spirit to effectively teach the Word in their families and communities.

This is an 8-week course meeting on Saturdays at 8am - 9:30am from January 11 - March 1

The full schedule of topics is presented below:

• THE TRUE TEACHER - THE SPIRIT: Understanding the role of the Spirit in illuminating the Scripture and the emphasis the Spirit places on Christ 
• DESIRE THE PURE MILK OF THE WORD: Understanding the benefits of abiding in the Word and developing the discipline to do so
• INTERPRETATION BEFORE APPLICATION: Focusing on Christ as the proper lens of interpretation, and understanding common pitfalls
• CONTEXT AND COMPREHENSION: Understanding the historical, literary, and cultural context of passages as a tool for increased comprehension
• HIDING THE WORD IN YOUR HEART: Recognizing and remembering the inter-connectivity of the Bible, and embracing obedience as a mechanism for comprehension and confidence
• WHY TEACH?: Understanding the biblical motivations for teaching, and avoiding mindsets prone to deception
• TEACHING GOALS: Emphasizing the goals of teaching and recognizing the responsibility to be clear, accurate, and reliant on the Spirit of God
• TEACHING TECHNIQUE: Discovering the unique voice, setting, and audience you have for teaching the Word, and emphasizing clarity over creativity

The course structure includes lectures, discussions, class activities, weekly homework, daily bible reading/summary assignments
