Jr. High Study

Junior High Lesson - 6/29/2020

6/28/2020

Join us as we continue our study in the book of 1 Samuel and learn what it looks like to have a heart for the Lord.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
     - Deuteronomy 6:5
thoughts:
  • What are some ways that today you can build your life up in the Lord to prepare for an effective testimony?
  • Are you compassionate for those who get hurt and those who make mistakes? Maybe you can take a moment and pray for someone you don't get along with.

Junior High Lesson 6-10-2020

6/10/2020

After some hiccups, this weeks lesson is finally up! Mr. Peter is back again to share a wonderful message on the life of Joseph and how he dealt with the struggles in his story.
You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.
     -Genesis 50:20

Junior High Lesson 05-31-2020

5/31/2020

Join us as Mr. Matt shares with us the wonderful story of the road to Emmaus! We hope it can be a reminder that Jesus is true.
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one can come to the Father except through me.

       -John 14:6
Thoughts
  • What do we do when Jesus doesn't follow our expectations? Do you have any beliefs about Jesus that are not from the Bible?
  • Do you believe that Jesus has changed over time or stayed the same for all time?
  • Does this bring you peace and comfort? Why or why not?

Junior High Lesson 05-24-20

5/24/2020

Join us for a wonderful message from Dave Simard as week look at Psalm 40
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus,
so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
          - Ephesians 2:10
Thoughts
  • Are there any areas in your life where you are struggling with fear?
  • What are some ways this scripture helps you deal with fear?

Junior High Lesson 05-17-2020

5/17/2020

Hey, all! Looking forward to sharing with each of you about something that has been challenging me lately: the topic of obedience. Join me as we look at 1 Samuel 15 and learn why and how we obey.
Observe what the Lord your God requires:
Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands,
his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses.
Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go.
     - 1 Kings 2:3

Thoughts
  • Why is obedience sometimes hard?
  • If obedience is often challenging, is there something we can do to grow in our desire to obey the Lord?
  • Like any hard task, practice is an important part of improving our obedience. What are three ways you can practice obedience in your day-to-day routine to make you a better servant for Jesus?

Junior High Lesson 05-10-2020

5/10/2020

Hey everyone! So blessed to have Paul Borkan with us again. Let's listen in as Paul leads us through 1 Thessalonians 3 and challenges us to live more like Jesus.
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.
Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
     - 1 John 4:7

THOUGHTS:
  • This section challenges us to pray for one another. Are there any people you haven't prayed for recently that you should pray for?
  • Try making a list of three people you can keep in prayer on a daily basis.
  • Seeing as this is mothers' day, I do also challenge you to pray for your mothers!
May the Lord bless you and keep you safe! We look forward to seeing you as soon as the Lord allows.
-Andrew

Junior High Lesson 05/03/2020

5/3/2020

Here's this week's study! A message about covenants, fasting, and loyalty with Brenna Jestus. Don't forget to click down below for some thoughts on the section. We have some questions for you to help you learn and connect with the Lord's Word for you today.
The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.
      -Psalm 51:17 NLT

Thoughts:
  • When is a good time to fast? We see that Saul is unwise when he fasts, when should he have fasted and when should you?
  • Are there any areas in your life where you are just kinda going through the motions? Do you find that you pretend to be someone you aren't sometimes, even, to yourself or God?
  • Spend some time asking yourself who you are living for. God loves you so much and wants you to do all things as if you were doing them for Him. If you had that sort of attitude, would that change anything about how you are living right now?

Junior High Lesson 04/26/2020

4/26/2020

Join us in our study through 1 Samuel 14 as we look at the great character of Jonathan
The LORD directs our steps, so why try to understand everything along the way?
      Proverbs 20:24 NLT

Thoughts:
  • Is there anything that you'd like to serve the Lord with later in your life? Can you start preparing for that today?
  • Do you think that you are more like Jonathan in this story or like Saul and the six-hundred men? How can you continue to grow into someone God can use?
  • Is there anything in your life that is getting in the way of you being more useful to the Lord? If so, make note of it and cut it out of your life. What is most important to you?

Junior High Lesson 4-19-20

4/19/2020

Join us for a special message about prayer with Peter Reyes!
You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it,
So that the Son can bring glory to the Father.
        - John 14:13 NLT

Thoughts:
  • Do you think it is important to spend time thanking the Lord in prayer? Why is thankfulness important in the Christian walk?
  • Is there a specific method for how to pray in the Bible that we have to follow?
  • Mr. Peter shared about the "ACTS" method for prayer, spend some time this week thinking and praying through this! Remember it is a great tool but not a requirement for prayer.

Junior High Lesson 4/5/2020

4/5/2020

Please join us as we look into a very relatable story from Genesis 8 and see what the Lord has for us to learn!
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.
Romans 5:3
Thoughts:
  • When Noah and his family exit the ark, after seeing God follow through with His promises, Noah instantly builds an altar to worship God. This shows his heart of thankfulness for what God had done. Are there any ways that God has blessed. protected, or answered the prayers of you or your family that you should thank Him for? Be sure to make thankfulness a habit in your relationship with Christ.
  • What are some ways you can help your family just to bless them a little bit today? Let's make this season of life one filled with extra prayer and extra time with family!

Junior High Lesson - 3/29/2020

3/29/2020

       Wait for the Lord;
Be strong and let your heart take courage;
      Yes, wait for the Lord.
- Psalm 27:14 (NASB)
Join us as we continue our study through the book of 1st Samuel 13
Thoughts:
  • When Samuel confronts Saul for his bad decision, Saul places the blame on others when he was the only one to blame. If someone came to you and corrected you for making a bad decision, how would you react?
  • Samuel was a prophet and Saul was the king. When Samuel corrected Saul, was he being disrespectful to an authority? Why or why not?
  • Saul made many mistakes in this section but what do you think? If Saul repented and decided to walk in the will of the Lord, do you think God would have forgiven him? What does that mean for us when we make many mistakes?

Junior High Lesson - 3/22/2020

3/24/2020

For the Lord will not forsake His people, for His great name’s sake, because it has pleased the Lord to make you His people

- 1 Samuel 12:22 (NKJV)

Join us as we continue our study through the book of 1st Samuel 12
THoughts:
  • God's response toward the Jews was very forgiving and gracious even though they had not followed His will. In light of this, how should you respond to others who don't do what you want?
  • We studied how the Jews were afraid of the Lord and did not sincerely repent. Looking at this instance, what does true repentance look like?
  • Is there anything you need to repent of in your life? Write whatever it is down so you can remember to ask for the Lord's forgiveness and pray for His help to overcome it.
